First Congregational Church

First Congregational Church is was founded in Claremont in 1771. The earliest records of the city were of the church records. Today, the membership gathers for Sunday services at 10 am in the building at 72 Pleasant St. The membership is aligned with the United CHurch of Christ which holds these views: Purpose Statement: To love God with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength and our neighbor as ourselves. Vision Statement: United in Christ’s love, a just world for all. Mission statement: United in Spirit and inspired by God’s grace, we welcome all, love all, and seek justice for all. All in the area are invited to participate in Sunday services or other events. Everything is open to the public. The membership welcomes members of the LGBTQ community.
